SWE Student Council Partners With WLMS Student to "Stuff Out Cancer"!
September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. SWE will be supporting the effort to "Stuff Out Cancer". Through September 30, please send a NEW stuffed animal to SWE. Our student Council will partner with Kaitlyn from WLMS to donate these generous donations to Texas Children's Hospital. While this effort will not cure cancer, it will bring comfort and support to those children fighting the battle. Thank you for considering!
Gifted & Talented Information
The identification & selection of students is determined through a comprehensive three-step process conducted by a committee which uses multiple and specific evaluation criteria.
Parents and teachers have the opportunity to refer new & returning students Referrals should be completed in the online portal, https://www.humbleisd.net/site/Default.aspx?PageID=115204, on the Advanced Academics website. The portal will be open during the referral window
Grades 1 - 12: August 26 - September 27
Kindergarten: August 26 - December 20
Also note: All kindergarten students will be screened toward the middle of the year.
Students who are referred for the Humble ISD Gifted & Talented Program are assessed with a variety of quantitative and qualitative instruments. Once the testing is complete, a committee meets to look at a variety of factors to determine identification in the gifted & talented program.
Parents will be notified by letter of the testing results.
