Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

We have a lot in store for our students and their families, so get ready for a fun-filled and mind-stretching year! However, first, I'd like to thank our custodial and office staff for all of their work to get Komarek ready for us. We would not be where we are at if it wasn't for all of you!

In addition, the teachers have been working hard to continue challenging our students along with building curricula that is suitable for every learner. Below are tasks for this school year:

  • Adopted and implement Carnegie Learning math for grades 6-8.
  • Piloting Math In Focus in grades K-5.
  • Implementing the use of FastBridge in grades K-8 as an ELA and mathematics benchmarking tool.
  • Reviewing and revising ELA units to meet the needs of all students.
  • Continue using MAP and other assessments to inform instruction.

I am proud of our teachers as well as our paraprofessionals. They work so hard to create an educational environment that supports every child. I can't thank them enough for their countless hours to make Komarek a place where every child can grow.

As always, I am here if you need anything. Please email or call with any questions.

Happy 2018-2019!

Jason Gold
