Dear South Row Families,
Covid Vaccination for students:
Children ages 5-11 are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine!!!
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was authorized by the CDC for use in children ages 5-11 on November 2, 2021. Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective. We encourage you to vaccinate your child to protect against the COVID-19 virus and to help keep our school community safe. Parents can schedule appointments through their child’s health care provider, and appointments at additional sites are available on https://vaxfinder.mass.gov/
For individuals who are unable to use VaxFinder, or have difficulty accessing the internet, the COVID-19 Vaccine Resource Line is available by calling 211. When you vaccinate your child, please send in a copy of the vaccination document(s) or their immunization record to me via email vandevoordts@chelmsford.k12.ma.us or with your child to school.
When to keep your student home from school:
Please keep your child home if they have been within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more of a person who has tested positive for Covid 19. This applies up to two days prior to symptom onset of the positive individual OR two days prior to the positive test if no symptoms were present.
If your child has a fever, new cough (meaning the health office does not have documentation of current asthma, tic, or other reason for cough) , loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath/ difficulty breathing, or muscle aches please keep them home and consult their pediatrician or urgent care. These are “stand alone symptoms” meaning if your child has ONE of these symptoms they need either a negative Covid test or a note from a doctor stating they may return to school.
Symptoms such as headache, nasal congestion/runny nose, sore throat, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, or fatigue alone do not require a covid test or doctor’s note to return to school. If your student has two symptoms from this list then you must contact a doctor for a covid test or note. For example if your child has diarrhea and vomiting, you must consult a doctor and provide documentation before they can return to school.
Have a great weekend!

Fruit Sale Fundraiser
For the month of November, we will be running a fruit sale through Florida Indian River Groves. Fruit will be shipped within 24 hours of being picked and will arrive at its destination in just a couple of days from the time of ordering. To order online, visit www.foridaindianrivergroves.com and use our school ID code, which is 1026389.
Here is a sample Facebook post one of our parents wrote that you can fill in with your kid(s)'s name(s) use yourself if you like. Thanks, Liz Haugner, for letting us share your post!
Fall/Winter is peak citrus season down in Florida and _______'s school found a fundraiser that will bring this yummy fruit directly to your doorstep! So you will be helping her school, boosting your immune system with all the Vitamin C, AND you don't even have to live near us or leave your house!!!!!
Navel oranges, grapefruit, AND mandarins plus some apples and pears in some! And they come in packages appropriate for gifting which I know many of my family appreciates getting 'consumable gifts' because it doesn't add more clutter to the house.
You can choose a Thanksgiving delivery or a Christmas one so you don't even have to worry about having "too much" because you can share it with your family!
_________ thanks you in advance for the support. Just visit www.fruitsale.com and enter school ID 1026389 to support the South Row Elementary PTO.
Playground Painting
Thanks to 3 parent volunteers and 3 volunteers from Chelmsford High School, we painted Mirror Me, Four Square, and two sets of hopscotch on the playground for the kids to enjoy. The kids have already been making good use of the games.
