The Kingdom of Mali

Location
The Mali kingdom was located on the Atlantic coast and was near the Niger River. The kingdom extends inland to the city of Timbuktu.
Government
The Mali's government was set up by Sundiata Keita and the government he created was strong. The villages in the kingdom all had local rulers who were both religious and administrative. they collected taxes to be sent to the overall kings of Mali.
Economy
Mali gained its wealth through trading gold and silver, but most people in the kingdom were farmers. The farmers grew grains like rice and millet. The majority of their money came from the gold and salt trade however.
Collapse
The collapse of Mali happened in 1359 when a civil war broke out and split thet kingdom.
