Country Population: 156.6 Million

Main Religion: Islam (89.7%) Hinduism (9.2%) Buddhists (0.7%) Christians (0.3%, mostly Roman Catholics) Animists: (0.1%)

Main Language: Bengali

Education System: The educational system in Bangladesh is three-tiered and highly subsidized. The government of Bangladesh operates many schools in the primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels.

Economy/Main Industries: Textiles & ship building.

Sports & Entertainment: Kabaddi but cricket, football are considered the most important.

Geography: Bangladesh is a low-lying, riverine country located in South Asia with a largely marshy jungle coastline on the northern littoral of the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh's alluvial soil is highly fertile, but vulnerable to flood and drought.

The Life of an everyday resident: Men, especially in urban areas, wear western style clothing. Men in rural villages wear a lungi (a circular piece of cloth knotted at the waist and extending to the ankles) with a genji (like an undershirt).

Extended families usually live together, and the children, especially the sons, are expected to look after their elders.

Climate: Bangladesh has a subtropical monsoon climate characterized by wide seasonal variations in rainfall, high temperatures and humidity.

Government System: Led by the Prime Minister, who selects all the remaining Ministers.
