The kora
The kora is a well known instrument. It is a long necked African harp with many strings. The kora is mostly used in worship. Mostly played fast it has influenced folk music and griots in America. The Kora orginates from the Malinke people of Western Africa. The Gambia river is where most people play this wooden instrument. It is used mostly by males spreading worship. Yon mostly don't hear the kora played in Americas music today the kora helped inspire the harp or guitar which is used today. The harp is a fancy more modernized version of the kora .

Modern music traditions
Africa uses a lot of singing in their music today. With the impact of western still impacting them today they have most of the same kind of music. Mixing western and Africa together for their music today. They use the older music mostly for worship and some little events. It has impacted the music in America greatly because we have blends of music now.
