Wauwatosa Montessori School
May 3, 2019
Tomorrow is the EFW Run/Walk at 8am @ Hart Park. Thank you to the 48 people/families from our school that registered. If your plans have changed, you can still register the day of the event beginning at 6:45 a.m. The 5K will take off at 8; and the one-mile fun run/walk will begin at 8:45 a.m. There is an obstacle course and a band to keep everyone entertained during and between events. This event helps to fund many educational opportunities in the Wauwatosa School community.
Our composting program has been a great success and we are lucky to have a student lead Green Team that is working to continuously educate our school community around composting and earth friendly choices. Our organics hauler, Compost Crusader, offers bags of Blue Ribbon Organics compost for purchase. This compost can be used in gardens and flower pots. It’s such a neat idea that waste from our school and other local schools, businesses and residents is composted and can end up in your backyard! Please see your child's Friday folder for an order form that came home today. We are asking for all orders to be submitted by May 15th.
Our second Family Listening Session is coming up fast, this Thursday, May 9, 2019, 6:00 - 7:30 pm in room 13. This meeting will be lead again by Tracy Carus, the instructional equity coach. The purpose is to recap what was shared at the first meeting and the steps that have been taken already based on what we heard. Then we will open the floor to more sharing on the same two questions:
What positive experiences have you or your child had at Montessori?
What challenging experiences have you or your child had at Montessori?
This will be followed by discussions in small groups of 4 to 5 people around solutions and next steps. We encourage you to attend this meeting, because all voices deserve to be heard.
Last but not least, our lost and found has shrunk quite a bit the last few weeks, but we are making a last call to come in and take a peek at the items that remain to see if anything belongs to your child. All items that remain in the lost and found on Friday, May 10th will be donated to the textile drive on May 11th.
Sincerely,
Ms. Imperiale
Principal
