Cordelia Hills Update

Message from the Principal

I am excited to announce that we are going to be opening another 3rd grade classroom. We have hit the teacher jackpot for this class and are going to be staffing the class with the District's 3rd grade instructional specialists. These two teachers are considered the top experts at 3rd grade for our entire District. We are working on moving students into the class and will contact you if your child is selected. We are looking to get the class up and running in the next two weeks. It will lower class sizes and give us space for additional school enrollment.

MAP Testing has started for Grades 1-5. Most classes will actually assess next week. All students are assessed online for both ELA and Math. The assessment is District wide and will help us understand the type of growth students are making and areas of need for our students, classes, and school. I really want to stress that this is about GROWTH. We aim to see students grow and will develop individual and class goals around growing from this assessment period to the next!

Lastly, a congratulations to five fabulous fifth graders (Wilcox) who have been working for several weeks on a anti-bullying movie. It is complete and it is fantastic. They will premiere it today to classmates.
