Message from the Principal
Greetings Standing Bear Families,
Be sure to bundle up when we have really cold days! Brrrr! It is in these moments of cold outside duty that I really appreciate the masks!
Dismissal: It would be extremely helpful with the flow of traffic after school if parents do not line up before 3:50pm. Early arrivals tend to cause a back up before we start entering numbers for dismissal. We appreciate you having your numbers visible to staff and pulling all the way down. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.
STANDING BEAR SPIRIT WEAR! The store is finally LIVE! https://store.ideal-images.com/standing_bear_elementary/shop/home It will close on January 27th. Order your items NOW!
Yearbooks: Standing Bear Yearbook Preorders open in Membership Toolkit through April 11, 2022. All orders need to be placed through Membership Toolkit.
Stay positive, patient and flexible!
Sincerely,
Bridget O'Melia

Notes from the School Nurse
It is the time of year when we see a variety of illnesses going around. Please read over the Health and Safety section below and follow the directives for Covid symptoms. This will assist you in determining if you should send your child to school and next steps. If you have any question's contact the health office and we would be happy to assist you.
If your child has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea they must be free of these symptoms for 24 hours without the use of medication before they can return to school. This is important in controlling the spread and making sure your child is feeling well enough to return to learning.
Thank you,
Mrs. Frazier

Important Information from Standing Bear
Building Security
For the safety and security of our students and this building, we are asking that any parent visitor make an appointment prior to entering the building. We will continue to limit outside visitors due to Health & Safety Protocols.
Drop Off Zone
We ask that you please continue to pull all the way down to the second crosswalk if possible (by main front doors). We can then unload around 10 vehicles rather than 5.
We currently have a school staff member assisting your child to breakfast or the classroom at the main doorway for all student’s morning arrival. REMINDER: School doors don’t open until 8:35 AM for classroom entrance and breakfast opening hours.
We ask again not arrive for end of school day pick-up until 3:55pm due to traffic flow congestion issues we’re currently experiencing due to early arrivals.
Please be attentive and cognizant of all school crossing guard officials and adhere to their requests during student morning drop-off and pick-up times. Our goal is to ensure your child’s overall safety.
School Messenger
We will be using the School Messenger (Robo call or email) to communicate this year. Please make sure to contact the office if you need to update your contact information.
Birthday Celebrations
We ask that only non-food items be brought for birthday celebrations.
