Susan B. Anthony lived at a time when women were not allowed to vote and slavery was prominent in the United States. However, Anthony grew up expecting to be a strong, independent woman. She made it her life goal to work for justice for all men and women in our country. Susan B. Anthony was an amazing leader!
Early Life
Susan B. Anthony did amazing things in her early life. She was born on February 15, 1820 in Adams, Massachusetts. Her family was part of the Quaker church. She became a teacher in twenties. She was the Head of the Girls Department at Canajoharie Academy. Susan B. Anthony was a hard worker in her early life.
Oh, if I could but live another century and see the fruition of all the work for women! There is so much yet to be done.
Contributions
Anthony helped change the lives of many people around the world throughout the United States. She fought against slavery and for equal rights for women. Anthony worked with Fredrick Douglass as an abolitionist. In 1872, Anthony was the first woman to vote, but she got arrested.

Susan B. Anthony a lot of good character traits that makes me want to be a better person. Anthony wanted everyone to have equal rights so she worked for justice. She showed courage and bravery by standing up for other women. Anthony’s diligence helped end slavery and win equal rights for women. Susan B. Anthony is my America hero!
