Racist and Hate Speach
Hate speech will not be tolerated here at Westview. Hate Speech is speech or action that attacks, threatens, or insults a person or group on the basis of national origin, race, ethnicity, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.
Once we enter the doors at Westview and become a part of the Westview community, we need to understand that hate speech is not tolerated here and will result in disciplinary action every time.
It is all of our responsibility to make Westview safe and welcoming for ALL students.

1. What classes do you teach and/or programs and activities do you work with?
Currently, I am teaching Prob/stats, FAT (Function Analysis with Trig), and working with the Flex Online Program helping students complete missing credits through a variety of online programs, including APEX.
ASL club advisor
2. How long have you been at WHS?
Since 1994. I am an original staff member.
Fun fact: When the school opened, I was the youngest teacher at Westview. That certainly isn't the case anymore!
3. What do you enjoy most about the Westview community?
The people.
I love working with high school students. For most of my career, I have taught freshman. It was always so fun to have them as freshman and then later as juniors or seniors. It was cool to watch them mature into amazing young adults.
I am blessed to work with incredibly talented teachers and support staff who love what they do and want the best for their students, as well as administrators who support us and work alongside us for a common goal. It isn't like that everywhere. This is a special place.
4. If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it - metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions - what would it say and why? It could be a few words or a paragraph. It could be someone else's quote or any quotes you think of often or live your life by. Why would you put it on a billboard today?

1. What classes do you teach and/or programs and activities do you work with?
I am a Campus Supervisor so I don’t actually teach a class or anything. Just life lessons in the hallways❗️🙌🏾
2. How long have you been at WHS?
I have been at Westview since 2016 so 6 years going on 7.
3. What do you enjoy most about the Westview community?
One of the things I enjoy most about the Westview Community is getting to greet everyone in the morning. I enjoy everyone greeting me and just being that positive person in the morning is a great feeling!
“ just love one another and stop hating “ it’s pretty self explanatory and applies to all parts of our lives…

COVID-19 Testing Q & A
Dear BSD Parents/Guardians,
The Beaverton School District will be offering weekly, take-home tests to screen for COVID-19. The tests are free to families.
Who is eligible for free COVID-19 testing?
We’ll be rolling out this program in stages for elementary and K-8 students next week. The rest of students in all middle, high and option schools are now eligible to participate beginning the week of November 8. Pre-K students are not currently eligible.
If students have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days, they are NOT eligible for this program. Once 90 days have passed since their last positive COVID-19 test, they may enroll.
The program is open to both vaccinated and unvaccinated students.
Why should your student participate?
Tests that screen for COVID-19 are just one more tool to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure that our students can continue in-person learning. It’s also an effective way to prevent an infected child from unknowingly spreading COVID-19 to other family members.
How will the COVID-19 testing work?
Once a week, your school will send home a PCR COVID-19 test with your student. The following morning, you’ll collect your student’s saliva in a collection container. All instructions and supplies will be provided. Then you’ll send the sample back to school with your student. Samples will be picked and processed by OHSU. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive an email from OHSU with your student’s result.
If your student’s result is “unknown” or positive for COVID-19, you’ll get a phone call from an OHSU nurse who’ll advise you further.
Are test results shared with my school?
OHSU will not share test results with your school; your student’s information or COVID status would only be shared with public health officials.
However, if your student tests positive for COVID-19, it’s imperative that you call your school office and let the staff know immediately. In addition, please forward the email that you received from OHSU to your school secretary so that it can be shared with the school nurse.
Your school staff will then begin contact tracing to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
What if I no longer want my student to be tested?
If you change your mind after enrolling your student, just let your school secretary know that you no longer want to be part of the program.
How do I enroll my student in this weekly COVID-19 testing program?
In the next week, schools will be sending home enrollment packets. You’ll need to fill out TWO FORMS to give consent. The forms will be included in the packets. Both forms need to be returned to school NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22.
You may enroll your student after October 22; however, your student will likely miss the first round of testing.
When will this COVID-19 testing program begin?
The first tests will be sent home the week of November 8. Every school will have an assigned day of the week, and that day will remain consistent.
