Seniors with Secondary School Reports- December 13th Deadline
This is the date the Student Services Department sets for seniors to submit college application materials that must be completed by their counselor for deadlines of January 1st. (like Secondary School Reports, brag sheets for Recommendations, etc.). Without giving their counselor this time, completion by a January 1st Application Deadline cannot be guaranteed.

CAREER FAIR for Freshmen- DECEMBER 18th
Freshmen will participate in this College-Career-Community Readiness activity during their US History class. Parents, if you are interested in participating as a career professional for students to talk to, please fill out this survey.
HOW TO MAKE GOOD USE OF YOUR WINTER BREAK TO START THE NEW YEAR OFF WELL IN SCHOOL...
-spend the time you need to make up class work, review tough concepts and develop
questions for your teacher from 1st semester for final exams in January, and
organize your class materials and backpack.
-re-connect with family, friends, and loved ones doing things you both enjoy
-take time to yourself doing the stuff that makes you YOU

Visit our Learning Experiences Beyond The Classroom and Career Exploration pages on the JMM Website, and spend some time in Xello to explore your interests, skills, and related paths for the future. Consider exploring Pre-College programs at this link.
SOPHOMORES
-Job shadowing someone in a career of interest to you for an hour or two.

JUNIORS
-Continue work on your to do list from your Junior Conference with your counselor
-Consider signing up for the October 26th ACT to improve your score. Register HERE. If you feel you are eligible for a tuition fee waiver, see your counselor before school ends.
-If you feel that preparation for the ACT/SAT might be helpful, start with METHOD TEST PREP in Xello
SENIORS
-Schedule and do a 15 minute conference with your counselor to inform them of your plans following graduation, and any help you need.
-Complete an application for colleges or training programs after graduation that will help prepare you for your long term careers of interest.
-Make sure to fill out the FAFSA if you plan to attend a college that you'll need financial aid for. Attend a COLLEGE GOAL WI night for help!
-Continue to explore careers and visit schools and/or programs of interest if you're not sure about what option is best for you.

Experience Madison College
We offer two ongoing events that meet students where they are in their college decision process:
- Experience Madison College: High school students spend a Friday afternoon on campus engaged in hands-on activities, visiting classrooms and meeting instructors.
- Instant Application Station: Students ready to apply can drop in to the campus nearest them for help completing their application. Staff will be available to answer their questions about the entire process.
All of these events include a FREE Madison College application.

Selective Service
Almost all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service.
- It's important to know that even though he is registered, a man will not automatically be inducted into the military.
- Registration allows you eligibility for federal student loans and federal jobs/job training.
