News From The Nest
Graham Elementary Weekly Update | May 14th, 2021
Dear Graham Families,
I hope this letter finds you well. I know many of us will be surprised to hear that as of today, we have not only completed another school week, but have only 3 more weeks remaining in the school year! As the weather warms up, and we all start to get excited for summer weather and celebrations, please continue to help your students remain excited and invested in finishing the school year strong and engaged.
In other news, as many of you likely know, the CDC recently updated it's guidelines on wearing masks both indoors and outdoors. At present, Graham Elementary will maintain the same protocols that we have since April 13th. If any new guidance is issued from Indian Prairie District 204, we will discuss adjustments to our policies, and communicate that to students and families.
Have a great weekend!
RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS 2020-2021
Kathy Muno - Music Education
It's with mixed feelings that we announce the retirement of Kathy Muno after more than 30 years dedicated to teaching. Kathy has been an integral part of Graham for several years and her commitment to students and music education will be valued for a long time to come.
Kathy had this to say of her retirement:
"Dear Graham Families: I wanted to share with you that this will be my last year of teaching in District #204. I am retiring at the end of this 2020-2021 school year after 35 years of teaching Elementary Music. It has been an honor and a privilege to share the world of Music with your children these last 5 years. They have each grown into amazing Musicians. I am so proud of them! I will miss each one of them! I also want to thank you as Parents for always supporting Music here at Graham. It has made each day here at Graham a wonderful place to teach. I wish your Families the best and hope Music will always be a part of your world."
Kathy will be deeply missed, but we can only feel happy to celebrate her many years of service.
Annette Leong - 2nd Grade
Annette Leong has dedicated almost 5 years to Graham Elementary, and over 27 years to the Indian Prairie School District, with many grateful students, parents, and families along for the journey.
So while we were sad to hear Mrs. Leong would be retiring, we are also glad to take this time to show our appreciation for her dedication to the education field and will look forward to celebrating her tenure at Graham.
