Character Education For Students đź’Ş
The staff at Summit have been busy this spring working with their 6th graders on how to be the best versions of themselves. Principal Alysia Ackerman, with the help of their school counselor and resource officer, developed a presentation focusing on compassion, being kind on social media and in school, and online safety. Their hope is that the kids will take away some valuable lessons about how to be responsible as they get older.

The High School Artist of the Week is Lindsey Johns
The High School Artist of the Week is Lindsey Johns! Artist of the Week is sponsored by Rocco's Pizza of Nixa.
"Lindsey is the epitome of what we want from our high school artists. She's creative, caring, hardworking, respectful, skilled, and has great attention to detail. She is a very versatile artist and being a senior, she will be missed in my classroom next year!" - Ryan Widel, visual arts department head
"Art to me is a mirror that reflects back to us the human experience. We make it to show ourselves, each other, and the world what it means to be human and what it means to live. The need to create is a call that is inside everyone's soul, the same way a bird who's never been knows the way south. From cave paintings, to the Mona Lisa, to the doodles you draw when you're on the phone with your mom, it's all precious and all art. Each one gives a unique insight to the human experience and shows us what it means to be us." - Lindsey Johns
