Remote Learning for Students in Quarantine

Our goal is to ensure all students stay on pace and are provided the best possible experience regardless of what environment they are in. OIS teachers are dedicated to your child regardless if they are here in person or at home (learning remotely because that is what works best for your family at this time OR in quarantine).

If your child needs to be in quarantine, please contact the OIS office as soon as possible so we can get them set-up in the correct Schoology course. Please click on the link below for further information.

Student Expectations and Guidelines

  • The remote schedule will be in your child’s Schoology course.

We look forward to this learning opportunity and hope you find it valuable!

Teacher Requests

It is our priority to ensure students at OIS receive the BEST education possible both academically and socially, and classroom placement plays a huge role in this process. Please click below to fill out a teacher request form (no paper copies will be provided).

Please note that we will do our best to honor requests, but priority will be given to creating equitable, balanced class lists. Please make sure all requests are submitted by the deadline of March 31, 2021.

Gavin Doyle - 3rd Grade

Nominated by Ms. Piggot: Gavin is always happy. He will volunteer to help even when other students do not want to help. He impresses me with his kindness to peers in both words and actions. Encouraging others to do their best is another strength of Gavin's. He puts forth effort on all tasks and tries his best. He enjoys talking about his family and hockey. All of these qualities make Gavin a great SOM!

Ethan Corder - 4th Grade

Nominated by Mrs. Stephenson: Ethan is a fine young man: he is kind to others, he works hard every day, he is respectful to adults, he advocates for himself, and he has a fun sense of humor. Although often quiet, he is fun to talk to; we've had great conversations about many topics, including growing strawberries and tomatoes, camping, and the Packers. He has a fabulous vocabulary. He's not afraid to let me know how I can do things in a more efficient way and he's typically correct. Overall, Ethan is one of those students that I look forward to seeing every day and he puts a smile on my face with every conversation that we have.

Lana Greene - 5th Grade

Nominated by Mrs. Bauer: Lana is a super student with a fun, creative side. She works hard in ELA and especially has a talent for writing. Lana thinks up interesting story plots and includes all the best details. She is also the kind of kid you would want in your group for any project. She is responsible, respectful and a team player!

State testing is approaching...

The Forward Exam is designed to gauge how well students are doing in relation to the Wisconsin Academic Standards. These standards outline what students should know and be able to do in order to be ready for graduation and so on. In order to meet the state and federal reporting and accountability requirements, all 3 - 5 grade students will complete the exam.

  • We are currently working on the OIS exam schedule- we need to complete the test during the required testing window, but also ensure students will not burn out or experience testing fatigue.
  • We will be administering the Forward Exam in April
