Bus Behavior

We need your help in reminding your child about appropriate bus behavior for the safety of all students. Proper bus behavior includes the following:

1. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

2. Keep the bus clean. No eating, drinking, or chewing gum allowed on the bus.

3. Keep your hands and head inside the bus.

4. Do not throw objects in or off the bus.

5. Possession and/or use of tobacco, alcohol, or drugs is prohibited in any form.

6. Parents will be fiscally responsible for any act of vandalism.

7. No loud, rude, abusive, or profane language.

8. Follow the bus driver's first request.

9. Ignore the inappropriate behavior of others.

10. Respect others' feelings, property, and space.

Note: the bus driver is authorized to assign seats.

Coffee with the Counselor

On November 22nd we had Coffee with the Counselors on the topic of anxiety. It was well attended and sparked a great discussion on ways parents can help their children learn how to work through worried feelings. Here is a link to the presentation that was shared. Be on the look-out for future Coffee with the Counselor sessions.

Adventure Book Club

Thank you, teachers and families, for encouraging your students to read, FIS’s first book club session was a great success.

Almost 300 students participated and read over 700 books!

Congratulations to everyone!

The classes with the most books read are…

3rd grade – Ms. Duby with 59 books

4th grade – Ms. Eldridge with 55 books

5th grade – Ms. Paquette with 85 books

These top 3 classes have earned a pizza party from Premier Martial Arts and FIS PTA.

Students will be receiving their earned buttons for each book read along with coupons for every 3 books read. As was mentioned at the start of the program, only one Magic Tree House book is counted per student for class totals. Students who read more than 3 or more Magic Tree House books will receive coupons for every 3 books read. However, only 1 Magic Tree House button will be awarded to each student.

Although the class contest is over, students may continue to earn buttons and coupons through December 31st. Teachers, parents or students may email with any additions.

Due to multiple classroom Winter Holiday parties and limited space for parking and in the cafeteria, we are asking families to refrain from eating lunch with their child from December 12th through December 20th. We greatly appreciate your assistance with this matter.

Cafeteria Update

If you are interested in working in our cafeteria, we have some openings at this time. Please contact Karen Lewis at 865-256-6502.
