The Odyssey
March 10th, 2023

From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
The Sip and Support fundraising event is upon us. I hope to see some of our parents at the event, to help support our school for the improvements that needs to be done! Our students deserve a playground and fencing for their safety while playing outdoors! We have tons of prizes that have been donated. The list if prizes is too long to list, but defiantly worth coming to the event to look at! Tickets will be available tonight, Friday March 10th at the MPH fish fry, tomorrow after the 4:00pm mass at MPH, and at the door. We would love to see all our parents their!
A huge shout out to all of the families that bought tickets, or signed up to work at the event. Especially to the Sip and Support Committee that has worked very hard to help make this event possible!
Stations of the Cross During Lent:
Each Friday during Lent students will participate in student led Stations of the Cross. Parents and families are welcome to join us at 2:30pm.
In Christ-

Home & School Organization
We value each of you as a partner in your child's education. We are looking to start a Home & School Organization at MQSCA. Our goal is to strengthen the partnership between families and school, so together we can help provide a quality education for all of our children. The organization will serve two functions at our school: build a sense of community and lead fundraising efforts to enhance our school climate.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help carry out the many activities that go on at our school. Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, get involved in your child's education, and give back to the school. We work as a team to create events around your ideas, unique talents, and availability. The commitment will include participating in monthly meetings and assisting with planning and facilitating events. Events may be anything that brings families together or improves our school like a spring dance, Teacher Appreciation Week activities, car wash, movie nights, picnics, a restaurant fundraiser, and much more!
If interested in participating, please send an email to Jill Klein, School Counselor, at kleinj@mqscateacher.org.

Seton Value: Joy
Saint of the Week: St. Patrick
Virtue of the Week: Cheerfulness
Feast Day: March 17th
Scripture of the Week:
A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22
Prayer of the Week:
Dear God, how I long for the joy of Your Spirit. I have sought happiness according to the world. I have chased what they promised would bring me joy and happiness. I have purchased fine things and traveled to far-away places. But all of this is vanity. All of this will perish, but You alone are eternal. Only You can fill the void in our hearts. Help us to rest in Your arms. Amen.

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Bryanna Hill if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
