Worthingway Middle School Updates
9/25/2020
Dear Families,
Families,
I'm excited to welcome our students back, in person, next week starting Tuesday. On Tuesday we will start with our Green group. On Wednesday we will have our Blue group. The Hybrid schedule is posted below. I've also included the Hybrid video from last week to provide more information.
Two items to clarify:
1. Community Time: Students will be in 'pods' of up to 10 during Community Time. Students will have the first four days of school to get into a pod. Each pod will have an area of the track that they will be assigned to, six areas total. The health department requires that we maintain seating charts in all areas. The pods allow us to do that.
2. Morning Entry: Students may enter Worthingway starting at 8:15. Students that enter at 8:15 will be required to move to the gymnasium. Once in the gym, students may eat breakfast or sit in the bleachers. Students will be permitted to go to their classrooms starting at 8:35. School officially starts at 8:50. Once students finish breakfast or are able to move to their classrooms, we ask that they do so in a timely manner.
I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kellenberger

Screenagers Film
Last spring, before the big Covid-19 shutdown, Worthington Schools and Drug Safe Worthington partnered with Columbus Springs to bring to our community a free screening of Screenagers Next Chapter.
Fast forward to today! I know the last thing we want to do is spend more time on our computers BUT this video provides a lot of insight into the challenges our teens, and society in general, are facing today (before Covid). Please find some time to enjoy a free screening of Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER in the environment of your own home! This documentary is recommended for ages 6th grade and above. For a brief synopsis, click HERE. Pop some popcorn, gather the family, and watch together.
The documentary will be available to view from today through October 5, 2020. In order to view, please follow the instructions below.

School Fees
School fees have now been uploaded to MyPaymentsPlus. Middle school fees are $38 and are due by 10/2/20. Students that are free and reduced do not pay full fee amounts. If you feel the amount listed in MyPaymentsPlus is in error, please contact Val Swearengen at Worthingway (614-450-4300). Please be aware that free and reduced lunch forms must be completed yearly. If your student was free or reduced last year, that status will not carry over to the new school year.
Needs Assessment: Buddy Boxes, Thanksgiving Support, Holiday Help and more
All answers will be kept confidential unless you give consent to share with teachers or other staff members that might be in a position to help your child.
