Tuesday in the Know - April 24, 2018
Message from the Leadership Team.
April 23 is UN English Language Day. April 23 was chosen because it is marks the birthday and date of death of the famed writer William Shakespeare. English is the unofficial language of the world.
Here are some fast facts: English is the language of aviation and is spoken on international flights; it is the language of international business; there are over 60 countries where English is either the official or primary language; an estimated 1.5 billion people speak English and of those 360 million speak it as their first language; there are 171,476 active words in the Oxford English Dictionary; “I am” is the shortest complete sentence in English; and the longest English word that can be spelled without repeating letters is “uncopyrightable”.
"The Cuban Guy" Event
Evening instructors. Please assist us in promoting "The Cuban Guy" to our evening students. He will be presenting on Thursday, April 19 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at LWTC. Please let students know that we have organized transportation from each site to LWTC. We are also providing food for our students to recognize their participation. We are seeking your assistance in promoting the event with your students as all classes will be attending. Coordinators will be visiting classes to get an exact head count of who will be riding the bus. Below is a the schedule by site of departure and return times. Again, we are very excited to have the opportunity to bring ALL our students from our sites together at LWTC.
Take a look at what he is all about. "The Cuban Guy" Parent/Teacher Event.
