Santa Clara University Theatre and Dance Scholarship Auditions

We want to announce that the Department of Theatre and Dance is now accepting applications for its annual merit scholarship auditions. This year, students will submit their audition online and then participate in an online Zoom group interview on either Saturday, January 18, 2020, 10-11am PT or Tuesday, January 21, 2020, 5-6pm PT. The scholarship application form is available online at the following link:

Our Theatre and Dance Department has a great tradition of educating performing artists who are excelling in all disciplines. Both theatre and dance graduates have performed on Broadway and in national tours such as Lion King, Cats and the Rockettes, and on television. They have performed, directed and designed in professional venues around the country such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and the Bay Area; and they have successfully founded new theatre and dance companies in many of these same cities. Playwriting has emerged as one of our newest disciplines to grab the limelight, with recent graduates winning national recognition awards and having their work produced off-Broadway.

Our program emphasizes academic and professional rigor, setting expectations high for the quality of work and professional behavior. A strong structure guides students through the steps necessary for achieving success in the classroom and the workplace.

Our approach focuses on students’ professional and personal development to help them achieve economic self-sufficiency.

For the first six months of the program, students develop technical and professional skills in the classroom. Students take coursework eligible for college credit, earn an educational stipend, and are supported by staff advisors, professional mentors, dedicated social services staff, and a powerful network of community-based partner

Exercise Your Right: 16 & 17 Year Olds Can Now Pre-Register Online to Vote

In California, eligible 16 and 17 year olds can now pre-register online to vote and then automatically become active voters once they turn 18 — strengthening our democracy by helping to choose the people who will lead us and by voicing their opinions on issues that affect the future of our communities, state and union.
