Ready, set, GROW! We are not just holding a membership drive, we have a launched a membership race. The first grade level to reach 85% of families with memberships by January 31st will receive a $250 grant! Any grade level that reaches 50% of families with memberships will receive an extra recess and any grade level that reaches 75% of families with memberships will be given a PJ day!
Why a membership race? One of the reasons the RES PTA is able to contribute so much to our school and community is because of its membership. We see a correlation between the number of memberships and impact of its members. Remember, your membership allows the RES PTA to hold enrichment, festivals, provide teacher grants, and so much more. It also gives YOU involvement and a voice in the school and community. You don’t need to attend meetings or volunteer in order to be a member - though we hope you will!
The 2023-2024 budget proposal is available with a form to submit questions and comments to the Redding Board of Education and ER9. We strongly encourage everyone to read and review the budget, ask questions, and stay informed. Community involvement is key.
Don't forget our annual Restaurant Week kicks off TODAY! Grab your next meal from one of our 7 participating restaurants or invite your friends out for a bite to eat. Each of the participating restaurants will donate 10% of this week's sales directly to the RES PTA!
I want to quickly thank the volunteers and families that attended our private, members-only free “Puss in Boots” movie screening at the Prospector Theater. It was enjoyable for everyone!
Coming up, we hope to see parents and caregivers at our Chasing Childhood screening on February 5th at the Mark Twain Library. Our committee members are already hard at work planning for the International Festival, STEAM Festival, Scholastic Book Fair and Glow Ball, but we still need your help. If you're thinking of volunteering (or are on the fence or in the category of “kind of, sort of, maybe”), these events are great opportunities to get involved at any level (and they are a lot of fun)! Even just 30 minutes at your computer will provide a substantial contribution. There is a role for everyone.
