The Gator Gazette
May 2020
From our Principal's Pen
Hello, South Creek Gators! I would like to take a moment to thank you for the important role you are playing in your child's education. As a parent myself, I understand the challenge that comes with teaching while balancing the other demands in your work and family lives. If your child did not tell you today, you are doing a great job! Our role is to offer you resources for continuous learning. We are approaching our last week of school! Next week we will wrap up our last week of E-learning for the school year. May 15th will be the last day of the 2019-2020 school year.
Know that we are staying informed with updates from our governor, our state superintendent, and following CDC information during these changing times. If you have further questions please refer to our COVID-19 website: https://ftcsc.org/covid-19/.
In the meantime, the staff at South Creek is keeping busy by connecting with our students and getting creative on how we can finish strong. It is important to us that we show our kids how very special they are to us before they begin the next chapter in their school lives.
The activity on our Facebook page this week has warmed my heart! Your words of kindness during this Staff Appreciation Week have been so gracious. Thank you for sharing what our teachers have meant to you and your child. We miss each of your kids dearly.
The staff of South Creek wishes your family well! Stay healthy and stay safe!

From our School Counselor
- If you are struggling financially or are having a difficult time getting enough food or other resources for your family, please reach out.
- If you do not have transportation to get to some of the district or community resources, I can help you.
- If you have any concerns about the emotional well-being of your students and would like to talk about it, I can consult with you and your family. Even though we aren't in school, I can still find ways to be there for your students.
- Weekly counseling lessons are posted on the district website each Monday. We created these based on the needs of your students during this time and to help you and your family.
I am wishing you well!
Mrs. Bailey Walen, School Counselor
