Service Year Learning Opportunities
It has become evident in out interactions with students that there is an increased interest and curiosity from students and faculty about service year options after graduation. In an effort to help make students aware of these opportunities, we have developed three different events for folks to attend to learn more about what opportunities are available, how to apply, and how that applies to their future!

Join the Career Development Center and Service Year Alliance as we discuss pursuing a service year option. Topics covered include:
- What should I know if I am going to apply for a service year program?
- What types of service year programs are there?
- Which programs might be right for me?
- How do I apply?
- How might participating in a service year affect my professional future?
Based out of Washington, D.C., Service Year Alliance creates an innovative platform to connect individuals, particularly students, with service year options. They not only connect students with larger programs, such as AmeriCorps, but also with smaller programs both domestically and internationally. For more information: https://serviceyear.org/about/
International Justice T-shirts
I am a part of the club on campus called International Justice Mission and we are the App State chapter of the human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation, and other forms of violent oppression. We have an event coming up on April 4th from 10am to 10pm on Sanford Mall in order to raise funds and awareness to our cause. In preparation for the event (and two weeks after) we will be selling these awesome t-shirts!
Contact Anna Wallace for additional questions.
ClubFest 2017
Friendly Reminders:
For the future, please consider if you sign up for an event and not follow through on your commitment. This can cause stress and inconvenience for the entire group if there are constant "no shows." We will be discussing this occurrence if service hours will be deducted for outreach and AppEd events.
