InSourced Day of Professional Learning at Liberty Middle School
Monday, Jan. 19th, 8am-4pm
801 36th Ave E
West Fargo, ND
InSourced includes both a morning and afternoon session for secondary educators. The morning session will be “TED-like,” with selected speakers sharing about local careers and companies. Speakers will discuss how key 21st Century Skills like the 4Cs (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity) are essential in today’s workplace, and reflect on what skills education professionals need to foster in order to prepare students for today’s workplace. At the conclusion of the morning, teachers will “debrief” and outline goals for how to better prepare West Fargo’s students for today’s workplace based on what they heard during the morning of speakers.
The afternoon session will be “adventures” to local businesses. The InSourced Adventures will include tours, discussion, and observation of how local companies “do” 21st Century work. Teachers will look for the 4Cs in the workplace, reflect on current teaching practices, and discuss how to better meet workplace demands.
