Arctic Blast
Glacier Ridge Elementary School 12.04.20
Dear Glacier Ridge Families,
This week we welcomed in December and hope that you are all doing well. We continue to follow the lead of the district in regards to returning to learn in person or remaining in a remote learning model. At this time we will remain fully remote until next Friday, December 11th. On Monday, December 7th you will receive an update on the status of the learning model.
In this Arctic Blast please see the important information on The Erin's Law parent presentation and staff recognition campaign.
Also there's only a few days left to fill out the form to have Mrs. Reinhardt and Mr. Jacobsen read with your family. You have until next Wednesday to get this in!
All the best,
Mr. Jacobsen and Mrs. Reinhardt

As part of District 47’s 20 Days of Gratitude video series and #D47thanksU social media campaign, we invite families to submit a nomination for an exceptional D47 educator who’s gone above and beyond for their students during this unique school year. One submission from each school will be featured in a video that will be shown at the December 14th school board meeting. Send your nomination/”shout out” via email to webmaster@d47.org by Wednesday, December 9th. Be sure to include the teacher’s name, school and a brief description of what makes this educator special. Video messages and photos are encouraged!
Erin's Law
In response to the state mandate of educating students about Erin’s Law, District 47 will again host the Be Seen and Heard© 2.0 program, a prevention-oriented child sexual abuse awareness program for students in grades K-8. The program is designed to create an age-appropriate, safe and engaging environment where students will learn about the difference between safe and unsafe touch, and the importance of having a trusted hero, someone a child trusts and can turn to for help. The presentation will be delivered to students in January 2021.
Parents/guardians are invited to learn about the Be Seen and Heard©2.0 curriculum by watching a brief video. To address any questions from parents after watching the video, two optional 30-minute Q&A sessions (English/Spanish) will be held virtually via Zoom on Monday, December 7. No registration is required but parents should watch the video prior to attending the Q&A session. See below for links.
