Student Holiday Friday & Monday
Monday will be a student and staff holiday and is an unused Bad Weather Day built into the 2020-2021 school calendar. All students and staff will resume regular schedules on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
Eagle Campuses Celebrating Black History Month
During the month of February, Argyle ISD campuses are celebrating Black History Month and learning more about the history and achievements of black leaders in U.S. history.
The campuses across the district are providing daily announcements, implementing videos, activities and lessons focusing on Black History Month and famous individuals and events. The libraries are providing books, read-alouds and virtual storytime on famous African Americans and their significant contributions to our world.
Students across the campuses are also doing a variety of activities including artwork and researching and writing biographies on famous figures.

Campus winners from Hilltop Elementary, Argyle Intermediate School, and Argyle West Elementary School will interview to receive the Lisa M.Z. Elementary Teacher Excellence Award.
Campus winners from Argyle Middle School and Argyle High School will interview to receive the Lisa M.Z. Secondary Teacher Excellence Award. Cash prizes are awarded from the Lisa M.Z. Teacher Excellence Award Endowment managed by the Argyle Education Foundation. Judges are selected from outside AISD.
Chopped! AHS Culinary Students Battle for Top Plate
Mrs. Hill's in-person and virtual students had 25 minutes to cook a special dish. It provided a fun and creative way to learn time management skills while working under the limitations of specific ingredients. AHS is providing the foundation for future chefs!
Argyle ISD Monitoring Winter Weather
Argyle ISD uses multiple ways to notify parents of potential school closures or delays. These notifications are sent through parent email, text, social media and website postings.

Guess Who? UIL Lone Star Cup Rankings Released
The point standings include: team tennis, cross country, marching band, volleyball, robotics BEST, football and spirit. This is the first points update of the year by the UIL.
The Eagles have won a state championship in football and band and earned a runner-up finish in spirit. Canyon is in second place with 42 points and Melissa is third with 36 points.
Argyle is a previous 10-time winner of the UIL Lone Star Cup.
Deadline Friday to File For School Board Election
Ritchie Deffenbaugh has filed for Place 4, which he currently holds. Phyllis Clark filed for Place 4 on Thursday.
Dr. Leona McDade has filed in her current Place 5 position.

Lady Eagles Playoff Moved To Friday
Argyle faces Benbrook in a bi-district playoff that now starts at 2 p.m. All fans will need an e-ticket to enter. Click here to purchase tickets online.
NOTE: All tickets purchased online for the game at Wilkerson-Greines will be refunded within 7-10 days on the same credit card used for the purchase.

Eagles Finish Regular Season Friday vs. Lake Worth
The Eagles, which have won 20 consecutive games, are coming off a District 7-4A title-clinching victory on Tuesday at Decatur. Argyle trailed early and rallied from a first half deficit for a 65-55 victory. Click here to read more about the game in the Denton Record-Chronicle.
Argyle is 23-1 overall and 11-0 in district play.

Lady Eagle Golf Shines In Opening Tournament
The Lady Eagles' golf team traveled to Champions Circle for their first tournament of the spring season last weekend. Both the Lady Eagles two varsity teams competed in the tournament - the first team took 2nd overall shooting two-day scores of 335 and 322. The second team finished 5th shooting 392 - 381.
Claire Jensen, junior, led the team finishing 4th shooting 79-79. Sophomore Madison Wert shot the team-low round of 78 and followed with an 81 to finish 6th. Katie Garner finished 7th with an 84 and 79. Senior Madelyn Diomede shot 96-83 and junior Maddie Wilson finished with 94-95.
Senior Izzy Wolfe led the way for the second team with rounds of 89-90.Freshman Madi Hance shot 95 and 97, Lauren Justice, a sophomore, had rounds of 104 and 91. Juniors Corin Sullivan and Avery Clayton shot 103-103 and 128-111. The Lady Eagles now travel to Kyle on Feb. 18-19 to play in the 4A State Preview at Plum Creek Golf Club.
Eagle Football Players Earn All-Area Accolades
Quarterback CJ Rogers was named Denton Record-Chronicle QB of the Year, Coach Todd Rodgers was named Co-Coach of the Year and Jett Copeland was named Co-Newcomer of the Year.
