WALKTHROUGH FOCUS: Consistent Guided Read Blocks

Guided Reading at Edneyville happens five days a week!

During our random walkthrough with the County Office 72% of our classrooms were on schedule with their Guided Reading as compared to the 100% they had seen earlier. Please review your Blue GR Notebook for non-negotiables. If you have any questions let's plan a meeting soon.

EDNEYVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN

We want our School Improvement Plan to be a live document that drives instruction and vision at our school. At our Wednesday faculty meeting, Mr. Rhodes, our SIT Chairperson, will review the updates made (with the input of staff and stakeholders) to our School Improvement Plan. Please take time to review the paper version or Google shared version and provide any feedback that you may have with the team. On Monday you will receive a Google Ballot that needs to be completed by Wednesday, October 28th. If approved our completed plan will be sent to the Senior Staff by November 2, 2015.

Partners in Reading Children's Book Collection for Young Readers

Every month in Henderson County, 1200+ young children receive their very own age-appropriate new book in the mail! Wow! What a powerful picture! We have been asked to collect books for our local "Partners in Reading" Book sale to support the Dolly Parton Literacy Program.

Please ask your students to bring their donated books to the box in the office or in the library. If they donate three books they can select one to take home.

WRITE! REFLECT! RESPOND!

Writing as an extension to Guided Reading, responding with a journal entry, or responding to a prompt.....WRITING IS EVERYWHERE!

NATURE TRAIL PD........... EVERYONE IS INVITED

Make plans to meet on the blacktop Thursday, October 29th at 3:30 for the beginning of our Nature Trail Training. Our instructor/ guide will share with us the rich resource we have and ways that it can be used to observe, discover, investigate and explore in our own backyard. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a camp chair/blanket. After our walk on the trail, we will meet back for hot dogs and smores around the campfire.

WE'RE CRAZY ABOUT PUTTING AN END TO BULLYING!

LUNCHROOM CLEAN-UP

Teachers, please check the floor in the cafeteria under your students' table before and after eating. Teresa and Mark should not be spending their time sweeping up dropped items left for them to pick up.

THANK YOU TRACY!

When you see Tracy thank her for all of her help and making Amy's transition seamless!

PICTURE DAY SUCCESS! THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

THE BLESSING TREE
