4th Grade CogAT
4th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) during the week of November 7-11, 2022. The Ohio-required whole-grade testing screens all students for potential gifted identification in Superior Cognitive Ability and Creative Thinking Ability, and it also provides information about students' instruction strengths and needs. Following the screening, individual student results will be sent home with your child. If you have questions about the assessment, contact

The CogAT consists of three different measures, verbal, quantitative, and non-verbal that measure reasoning skills. We will test one battery each day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, next week. Each test should be completed in under an hour.
7th Grade Chicago Trip Informational Parent Meeting
On WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 09, at 6:00 PM, CMS LGIR, we will have our parent informational meeting about the 7th grade Chicago Trip. Topics will include:

NEW PBIS LOCKER MAGNETS!!!!
This past week our 4th and 5th graders were awarded a newly designed PBIS magnet after a teacher recognized them for being Caring, Mindful, and/or Solution Focused. A big thank you to Mrs. Collins for the design upgrade from our old magnets.
Mrs. Diehm's computer classes are having a design competition for Chromebook-compatible stickers for 6/7 grades. The students voted TODAY and we will post the results next week.
CMS Yearbooks
It’s time to order a CMS YEARBOOK! CMS yearbooks are on sale through December via Infinite Campus for an optional fee. We do not order extra yearbooks, so all sales must be completed before winter break. .
To order a yearbook, log-in to Infinite Campus. On the left-hand side of the screen click “fees.” Then click on the “manage accounts” folder (this is the tab next to the shopping cart). From there click “optional payments.” You will be able to add “CMS Yearbook” to your cart and pay the fee. Please contact the main office with questions on this ordering process!
PTO Meeting

A HUGE thank you to all of those who have volunteered to support CMS over the past month! Staff dinners, cider, donuts, classroom parties, hot dogs and popcorn. We can’t thank you enough!!!!
Parent University Presentations
The second “Parent University,” topics relevant to CMS and CLSD families, took place this past week . The first topic, “School Tech - What the Heck,” was presented by the CMS Technology Team of Mrs. Diehm, Mrs. Holub and Mrs. Scrheffler. The second topic, “Internet Safety,” featured Mr. Richard Warner from the Geauga County Prosecutors Office, Mr. Jason Elam, CLSD SRO and Mr. Adam Tomco, CMS Principal. A big thank you to G-TV for recording the two presentations for parents to view who were unable to attend. Click the links below to watch the presentations.
