NFL-The Past and The Present by: AJ Deas
*****The original NFL referees went on strike because they were not getting enough money that was the big reason. A referee that had 1 year of experience would make about 78,000 dollars which seems like a lot of money at first but comparing that to an MLB umpire with 1 year of experience also would make about 120,000 dollars. That about 42,000 more dollars than a referee. The referee associations was working on a document to bring them back 8 years.
*****Now lets go back to the times when the NFL was being invented. The National Football League was invented in 1920. The NFL was originally called AFPA which is the American Professional Football Association. It was later named NFL in 1922. Football was started by a game called rugby. The person who invented football was Walter Camp. Walter Camp was born on April 17, 1859. He made football in 1879.He went to Yale in 1876 while he was there he studded medicines.
