Boost-In(itiative) coming to SHS!
Who?
Boost-In is a student-run organization consisting of undergraduate Harvard students who are committed to promoting access to higher education for low-income and first-generation students
What?
Through mentoring and student-to-student support for the college admissions process, Boost-In strives to promote access to higher education for low-income and first-generation students. Students will be matched with a Boost-In mentor who will help to support students through the college application process. This support will include helping students build a list of schools to apply to, reviewing college applications/essays, looking for scholarships, and general advice about what it is like to attend college.
Where?
Students will meet with their Boost-In mentor approximately once every two weeks at Somerville High School. To further ensure the availability of mentor support, student-mentor contact will also be conducted through e-mail.
