Principal's Message
Ravinia Families,
Happy Friday! It isn't too late to register for the 112 Foundation FUNd Run! It looks to be a beautiful long weekend for a family walk/run through the neighborhood. I enjoyed a run down Green Bay trail this week, as well as a wonderful walk down to Rosewood Beach. Get out and enjoy this weather together, and post a picture to social media with the tags listed in the article below. We can't wait to see your family pictures!
Warmly,
Courtney Nordstrom, Principal

FUNd Run 2020 - Virtual Event!
The health and safety of the D112 students, faculty and community members are our top concern. To this end, the 2020 FUNd Run will be a VIRTUAL event.
It isn't too late to register for this event! Take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather, and even better, help raise much needed funds to support students in our community as part of a need-based scholarship fund providing critical support for items such as school supplies, books and musical instrument rentals.
Participants complete a 5K or 1-mile Family Walk before October 12th. Be sure to post pictures of your family and tag us on social media (@112foundation) or email pictures to us. “I ran FUNd Run 2020” signs are in front of Ravinia for the perfect post-race photo op!

Online registration closes October 12. Register at: 112foundation.org. All participants will be entered into a raffle with the opportunity to win prizes from local businesses.
At its heart, the FUNd Run is both a community event, and a fundraiser. In a year when the anticipated need is higher than ever, the FUNd Run will not have a 2020 race giveaway. We recognize many participants look forward to the race swag and wear it proudly throughout the year.
From the Library
Dear Parents,
It's been great getting books in student's hands. Second through fifth graders have all been taught how to place a book on hold using the Destiny Discover App located in Clever. Ask your child to show you how it works. The remote students do not have the app in Clever, but there is a link in Otus under Class Board for them to access the catalog from there. Starting the week of November 2nd we will be offering a book pick up and drop off in the school vestibule for our remote students and will also resume regular check out to our students in person.
In the meantime, please remember everyone has access to our ebooks and audiobooks from the Sora App in Clever. Here is a video explaining how to access Sora if you need a reminder. All second through fifth graders have been taught how to utilize Sora. Please ask your child how it works. Ask them to read a book with you. It's a great way to read together!
Enjoy exploring, Mrs. Lau
New story at our Story Walk!
Please bring your family to the StoryWalk near our school starting this weekend. See the linked invitation for all the details. Our StoryWalk starts on Roger Williams near the circle drive in front of Millenium Hall. Signs are posted and numbered. As you move through the StoryWalk, be aware of other family groups and allow for at least six feet of social distance. If there are too many people at the StoryWalk, please come back at a later time, it is important to uphold the governor’s order for fifty people or less at any time. The new StoryWalk will be up from Friday, October 9th - Sunday, October 18th. Subsequent StoryWalks will go up over time, refer to our school newsletter for when the next StoryWalk is up and running at our school.
