~ Dear Graduating Seniors and Families ~
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our traditional, in-person ceremonies. While we know that this might be a disappointment, we want to assure you that our graduates will be honored! We are currently hard at work planning for a unique and memorable online graduation that celebrates each graduate and this very special occasion.
Please mark your calendars for IDVA’s Grand Online Graduation ceremony on May 21st at 3:30 pm PST/4:30 pm MST! Let your family and friends know so they, too, can attend from anywhere in the nation or across the globe virtually!
1. Complete THE Online Graduation Survey
Please let us know if your son or daughter will be participating in the online graduation ceremony.
2. Send your Senior Picture
Please email your student's senior picture to Mrs. Percifield. The picture will be included in the senior slideshow and graduation program.
Deadline Extended! Please send by May 1st.
Mrs. Percifield's email: lpercifield@idahova.org
3. Send your Baby or toddler picture
We love to see your student's baby or toddler pic! They put smiles on everyone's faces! Please email the baby picture to Mrs. Percifield so it can be included in the senior slideshow.
Deadline Extended! Please send by May 1st.
Mrs. Percifield's email: lpercifield@idahova.org
4. Graduation caps and gowns
With the move to an online graduation ceremony, gowns are now optional. If you have a gown, you are encouraged to wear it! We would also like all seniors to wear a graduation cap and tassel. For those who have not yet purchased a cap and tassel, IDVA will provide them. Caps and tassels will be mailed in early May.
Please note, if you purchased your cap and gown already, we are inquiring with Josten's if they will allow returns. We haven't received a final decision from the company, but an update from them is shared below:
"As a rule, and under normal circumstances, we do not process refunds until June typically after graduations are over. Even if we were to attempt to process a refund now, our plants are closed and those that are open are running with skeleton crews to make medical supplies. I don’t believe that refunds will be given, but have not yet had the official word from the owner. We will let you know just as soon as we can." - Josten's

~ Graduating with Honors ~
All students graduating with honors will be sent an Honor Cord in early May so that it can be worn at the graduation ceremony.
The Graduating with Honors distinction is calculated and determined following semester one grades and based on the student's cumulative GPA.
~ Frequently Asked Questions ~
- When will I receive my actual diploma? Graduates will receive their diploma after the graduation ceremony, ensuring all final course grades and credits are posted.
- What is an online graduation rehearsal? Like any face-to-face graduation ceremony, our online graduation will require specific timing and transitions. For our online graduation rehearsal, graduates will log in at the assigned date and time, and we'll work through the timing and processes to smooth out any details before the live ceremony.
- What does it mean to have my camera on during the graduation ceremony? During our online graduation, there will be certain points where we invite graduates to turn on their web camera so attendees can see them. Specifics on when and how this will work will be reviewed during graduation rehearsal.
