IMPORTANT: TIME TO REGISTER FOR the 2021/2022 SCHOOL YEAR
It is time to register your student(s) for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are receiving emails and texts regarding registration, we have not received yours yet. To register go to: www.eaglepnt.k12.or.us and click on Online Registration. Choose School Year 2021-2022 from the drop down menu.
State Testing Opt-In
House Bill 2655 permits parents and adult students(over 18) to annually opt-out of Oregon’s statewide summative tests in English Language arts and mathematics by submitting a form to the school the student attends. For the 2020-21 school year only, students will not be mandated to take the state summative assessments by the Eagle Point School District 9 School Board and Superintendent, Andy Kovach. Therefore, if you would like for your student to “opt-in” to take the assessments, please print and fill out the attached form and return it to the SCS office prior to May 4th. If you do not wish to have your child participate in the state testing this school year there is no further action needed.

Kindergarten Rodeo and Academy
Please join us on Wednesday, May 5 to learn more about the upcoming school year. This event will take place in two sessions. Families with the last name of A - M attend at 5:30pm and the last name of N - Z attend at 6:15pm. Please see the attached flyer. We look forward to seeing all of our new Kindergarten students and their families.
We are also planning on having our traditional Kindergarten Academy the week of August 16th. This will be Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 12:00pm.
This is a great opportunity for our new Kindergarten students to meet their teacher and learn what it will be like in Kindergarten. There will be a lot of fun activities to help your child get acclimated to school. More information to come.

COVID 19 Illness Protocol
We appreciate everyone's vigilance in helping to keep our community safe. It is crucial if your child has a COVID 19 primary symptom or two non-primary symptoms that they stay home for the recommended time. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact our office. Thank you again for your support in this matter.

BinaxNOW COVID 19 On-site Testing
As per our Ready Schools Safe Learners guidance, we have the opportunity to offer access to on-site COVID testing for symptomatic students and staff identified on campus. We now have rapid COVID-19 testing at our school sites.
These tests will ONLY be used if a parent has signed a consent form to allow us to facilitate the student-administered test. It is also important to know that a student will only be given a test if the student is already at school and the student has COVID symptoms. Students are NOT to come to school to get tested if they already have symptoms. Please continue to keep your children home if they are ill.
If your child has developed symptoms at school and you are interested in allowing us to facilitate a COVID test with your child, please fill out and sign this consent form and return it to the school office. Each school has a designated person in the front office that has been trained to conduct the actual testing and reporting. The student will be required to swab their own nostrils. Consent forms have already been printed and sent. If you need another copy, please ask your child's teacher or call the front office.
Drop off and Pick up procedures
- Adults are to stay in vehicles. (The only exception would be if you needed to buckle a student in a car seat.)
- Have students exit on the passenger side for safety reasons
- When dropping off/picking up you must go through the drop off line. Don’t park off to the side of the street or in a parking space and have your child walk to your car.
- Pull up to the furthest Drop off Zone.
Again, we want to thank you for supporting us with this.

Student Absence
Technology
We are doing this for multiple reasons:
- There are many educational apps that students can work on at home if families choose to.
- We want our families to stay familiar with Canvas and be involved with what students are doing in class.
- In case students are sick and/or quarantined they can still access asynchronous learning and get support from a tutor.
Teachers are continuing to keep Canvas pages updated with assignments and family information/resources.
IPAD INSURANCE
If you haven't paid your iPad insurance you can do so at the front office. All you need to do is bring $25 to the office and we will inspect the iPad. We highly recommend this insurance. You never know when an accident is going to happen. If you have not paid the insurance then you will be responsible for the cost to fix or replace the iPad.
