Final Week STEAM FAMILY
Let's make the last 4 days phenomenal for our students!
Full Steam Ahead!
I've seen growth happen for many of you this summer.
My question for you is what is at least one thing you will take back to your school family that you learned during summer school?
What needs to happen before you can check out of Summer School?-
1) Click here for your T0- Do List to Close out the Summer (There is a survey on curriculum linked here, please give honest feedback so we can grow our STEAM program)
2) FAREWELL RITUALS
Think about a way to say Farewell to your Classroom Family.
Ideas:
- Positive Bombardment- Have students write one positive thing about each other to take home with them.
- Find a Goodbye song to play for students
I get by with a little help from my friends
3) Library - Turn in all books by Tuesday.
4) Technology - Turn in all technology by Wednesday
5) Send me an email about what or how you did on your principal's challenge for the summer. You had 2 choices. If you forgot, then tell me how you "stretched or grew this summer."
You can choose your challenge
1) Give Meaningful Feeback- Often it is easy to slip into the habit of saying "Good Work" or "Good Job!" Instead make your feedback purposeful and meaningful to enhance the learning of your students. i.e. "I noticed you had several different ideas about how to solve the problem, you kept trying different ideas, until you found one that worked. How did that make you feel?"
2) Practice gratitude-Research proves that gratitude increases overall happiness. Find something to be grateful for and express your gratitude each day for 5 days. T
STEAM CELEBRATION ON THURSDAY
Please refer to his schedule found here.
Remember lunches are in your rooms.
Remind students to wear older comfy clothes, tennis shoes, and bring a water bottle.
I will be sending home communication to parents today about signing up to volunteer.
You will get a break during the day. No worries, we are planning to give you a break during this Thursday to get your room and to-do list above done. Thank you Ms. Martin and Ms. Miller for volunteering to help.
