e-Learning Changes

Dear Preschool Parents,

As outlined in the email message sent by Dr. Scott Bowling, Superintendent of Schools, on April 8, 2020, the administrators and teachers of Crawfordsville Schools have been meeting to determine the best actions to take regarding instruction and other issues regarding the closure order.

In order to balance the needs of families during this difficult time and still provide academic instruction and enrichment, Willson Preschool will be making the following adjustments to our current eLearning plan:

Crawfordsville Schools will be utilizing 5 waiver days, and the last eLearning day for preschool be on May 15, 2020.

Beginning April 13, 2020, I will email all school-wide lessons for the entire week on Monday mornings to parents via school messenger so that families will have the flexibility to plan when it is most convenient for to work with their preschooler on any eLearning assignments.

In addition to the school-wide lesson plans, teachers may continue to post additional optional enrichment activities, videos, and schedule virtual face-to-face meetings.

All assignments are designed to be completed over the course of three days; however, preschool families have the flexibility of spreading out assignments over the course of the traditional five-day workweek. Preschool staff remain available Monday-Friday to provide support and answer questions.

The preschool staff appreciates all of the supportive messages received from parents, and we truly appreciate all of your feedback regarding preschool eLearning. Please continue to let us know how we can best support your family during this difficult time.

If you have additional feedback to provide regarding the eLearning process, or anything else related to preschool services, please do not hesitate to contact me or communicate with your student’s preschool teacher.

Marci Galinowski, Principal

Because Willson Preschool does not give traditional letter grades on report cards, and to decrease the opportunity for the spread of COVID-19, we will not be collecting completed packet work from students. Please take pictures of your student's completed activities and share them with your student's teacher via Class DoJo messenger. You do not need to send photos of all activities, just the best one each day or each week. Teachers will continue to post daily lessons and videos on Class DoJo for students and provide guidance to parents who have questions about the activities.

Family Fun!

The Family Fun section of our digital newsletter will focus on a fun, family activity that reinforces the theme that we are working on in school. It will be a story, a song, or an outdoor activity that everyone can work on together.

Need to get your wiggles out at home? Why not dance as a whole family to this silly song!
