What Reading Means to Me
I chose this quote because reading should challenge the mind. The books we read help us form our opinions on real life situations. Even reading light, fun stories still leave an impression on me and my outlook on life.
Who am I?
I am a first year middle school library media specialist. I've been with with young adults for over 13 years. My favorite conversations with students are always around books and what everyone is reading. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE reading YA fiction and anything that interests me. Reading was something that did not come easy to me in school. I had to work really hard and my teachers gave me lots of support and encouragement. My first book that I ever completely read on my own with no-help was To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The feeling I had when I finished that books was amazing. I realized that reading was power and a gift. I have been able to achieve many things through my love of reading and I do my best to pass that on to my students.
