Appendicitis
Want more info on this topic? Read below for more.
What is appendicitis?
It is, simply put, inflammation of the appendix. It can lead to the appendix bursting and leaking harmful substances in your body.
What is the appendix?
A small, seemingly useless, pouch located at the start of your large intestine.
Causes of appendicitis?
Appendicitis results from blockage of the appendix, whether this be from infection (swelling), cancer, or foreign object.
Think you have some symptoms?
You should contact your doctor if you've experienced any of the following: Dull pain that becomes sharp, fever, inability to pass gas, loss of appetite, nausea, and/or have concerns.
What's going wrong in there?
The appendix is inflamed and without treatment could burst, spilling infectious material in the abdominal cavity, causing more inflammation that could be fatal.
Treatment options?
Prompt surgery to remove the appendix before it is able to burst!
Prevention?
Sadly, not much is known on how to prevent this other than odd techniques used by some like eating specific foods, but that all seems to be inaccurate and unprofessional. Just try to stay healthy, as always!
