A BIG THANK YOU
Distance education is HARD for everyone but I hope that you will agree that throughout it all, our staff has risen to the challenge and has done everything possible to help, assist, communicate and keep strong learning going throughout this ordeal. So, it's really nice to feel as though our efforts have not gone unnoticed. So, thank you!
We have just over 3.5 more weeks of school. Be on the lookout for midterms. They will not all go on the same day but they will be coming.
People have been calling and asking about summer camp and summer school.
Summer camp - I have no information to offer you at this time. It will depend on local regulations as well as feedback from the Children's Trust.
Summer School: We will be having summer school. It will be a virtual summer school for outgoing K5 through 5th grade students. We will have very small classes of students who are in need of remediation in basic skills to be successful at the next grade level. Classes will be held from 8:30AM to Noon. More details to follow if your child will be required to attend.
With a few exceptions, any current 6th, 7th or 8th grade student who is required to attend summer school as a condition of promotion will be enrolled for course recovery in the Florida Virtual School in language arts and math.
Still looking for submissions for our anthology!
2020-21 School Year
We are extending the discounted EARLY REGISTRATION period until June 30th. That is an extra 2 months. Registration is still going on during Covid-19 in the business office each day. You first need to complete the registration online through FACTS, then come to the business office to sign the paperwork. It is very simple. We are also working to develop a document that you can sign and return digitally. Please reach out to Mrs. Escobar if you are in need of help. She is in the office most every day from 9 to 3.
I can tell you that we will have some new policies in place at the beginning of the school year that will be designed to lessen exposure and keep people healthy. Other than that, there is not much more I can share with you about next year at this time. Things are still changing from day to day.
We do ask that you share with your friends, co-workers, family and neighbors about our wonderful school and remember that we do have a referral credit program. The purpose of this is to thank you for your support and telling others about Holy Cross.
