The Life of Trumbull
He was a governor of the Connecticut Colony from 1769-1776. He was the only Colonial Governor at the start of the Revolution to take up the rebel cause. He was also only one of two colonial officers to continue in office after the war was over. He was a friend of George Washington and Washington had declared him the first of the Patriots.
