Girls on the Run Program
Empowering Girls to Reach Their Fullest Potential
About the Program
Join Me in Bringing Girls on the Run to Our School
Reed Elementary School Parents and Guardians,
We have an amazing opportunity to host Girls on the Run, an afterschool program dedicated to creating a world where every girl activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
"Girls on the Run has helped me understand what it means to be a girl. It was an amazing experience being part of such a spectacular team of girls. I will continue to teach others what I have learned with Girls on the Run and carry it with me for the rest of my life." - Malia, age 11
Over 300 schools across the Chicagoland area are taking part in this program and I believe the girls at Reed Elementary School will benefit from the experience. In fact:
97% of Girls on the Run participants said they learned critical life skills including managing emotions, resolving conflict, helping others or making intentional decisions that they can use at home, at school and with their friends
Girls made the greatest gains in connection, how supported they felt by their peers and confidence, how much they liked the person they are
Girls who were the least active at the start of the program increased their physical activity by more than 40%
Girls on the Run is for EVERY girl. It’s Fun. It’s Effective. See for yourself here.
I’ve submitted a new site application but in order to host the program, we must have enough girls interested in participating. If you would like to have your girl(s) join or want to learn more, let me know. Our school is still in the application process, but I am keeping a list of interested families to contact with next steps.
Thank you,
