Remembering September 11
Teachers in English and in Social Studies provided students with activities and experiences on September 11, 2015 that helped them understand the events of September 11, 2001.
7th Grade ELA
Ms. Hollis used the Turn & Talk strategy to help students identify background knowledge they already have about September 11. This helped scaffold learning for students who were too young to remember the actual events.
7th Grade Social Studies
Mr. Stanhope used several 9/11 tribute videos to generate class discussion and awareness about the events of September 11.
Writing to reflect
After the students shared ideas, watched tributes, and discussed the events, their exit slip was to write a reflection about their understanding of September 11.

8th grade Physical Science students apply what they have learned about energy to construct roller coasters.
Virtual students create Fakebook
World History students bring modern methods of communication to their study of ancient history by creating "Fakebook" pages about their learning.
