AP Registration Deadline March 4th
Exam Details:
Exams are $108
The deadline for students to order exams for 2nd Semester AP courses is March 4th. This deadline is only for courses that began on January 5th, 2022.
How to Register for an AP Exam:
There are two steps to fully register for an AP Exam.
Students use your Join Code to get into your AP Classroom and officially register for the exam by clicking YES in the yellow 'register for exam' button.
Pay for the exam on Total Registration
If a student does not complete BOTH of these steps, the exam will not be ordered.
Students should use their existing accounts for Total Registration and College Board (they have these accounts if they tested for AP in the past). Students should not create a new account if they do not remember their login information. They must go through the steps to gain the login information.
Virtual AP Courses
Virtual AP teachers will have a total of 2 join codes. One code the teacher will hand out and the other the student’s home school AP coordinator will hand out.
Students that are not from the teacher’s home school must mark NO to registering for the exam when using the join code for the first time.
Only students from the teacher’s home school should reflect a YES for 'register for exam'. If an outside student shows YES, the AP coordinator will change the status to NO.
This join code is designed for students to use the AP classroom resources. Students not from the teacher’s home school will need a second join code to register for the exam.
If the online student is not from the teacher’s home school and wants to take the exam- the virtual teacher will send the student to their home school AP Coordinator to receive the exam join code.

Communications Matrix
If you have a question or concerns, we want to help! Many times by starting at the building level, you will work with the person who is closest to the situation and will usually have the most information. If you feel further discussion is warranted, the following chart can be used as a guide for whom to call when questions arise on the most common topics.

BV Influenza Guidelines
Recommended Influenza Guidelines for Blue Valley Students per the Johnson County Health Department & the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE)
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Division of Public Health, Bureau of Epidemiology, Public Health Informatics, and the Johnson County Health Depart has made changes to the Requirements for Isolation and Quarantine of Infectious or Contagious Diseases in relation to Influenza as of May 2018.
The change to the Requirements for Isolation and Quarantine of Infectious or Contagious Diseases in Influenza came about from the determination of the length of the contagiousness being between 5-7 days. The isolation period supports the control of communicable disease. The new regulations state;
• For each person with a confirmed flu diagnosis shall remain in home isolation for five days following onset of illness or for the duration of illness if the case is immune-compromised, except when seeking medical care.
In the school setting a diagnosis of an Influenza, any strain, most commonly strain A or B requires the verification from a MD, DO, NP, or PA. The verified diagnosis would lead to a recommended five-day home isolation beginning from the date reported of the onset of the illness. The date of isolation begins on the onset of illness reported, NOT THE DATE OF DIAGNOSIS. If fever persists for more than 5 days, continue exclusion until 24 hours fever free. The use of antiviral medications/antibiotics does not change the days recommended to be in isolation.
Fostering a Safe Environment
Creating the best possible Blue Valley high school experience
Blue Valley has a unique opportunity this year to study the high school experience with the goal of creating a comprehensive experience that leads to increased student personalization and ownership of learning.
The High School Study Committee, made up of high school teachers and administrators across the district, will study high school programming and spend time learning more about what we want for our students. Committee members from Blue Valley West include Katie Bonnema, Anna Dunn, Courtney Grimaldi, Paige Lankford and Aimee Price.
The study committee solicited student focus group feedback to help identify the five action teams which will meet regularly over the next two months:
Graduation requirements: Investigate what Blue Valley requires of its graduates and make any recommendations related to graduation requirements.
Defining high school success: Identify some accountability measures in our redesign process.
Real-World Learning Opportunities: Work closely with those leading the BV Edge work and establish a plan to deliver real-world learning opportunities to all students.
Strategically Agile High School System: Make recommendations that inject more flexibility and agility into high school programming and the high school experience.
Relevant & Authentic Instruction: Make recommendations related to instructional strategies, feedback/assessment policies and grading.
As high school families, your insight and feedback are valuable. Throughout the study, there will be opportunities for all high school students, staff members and families to offer feedback. Stay tuned for more information about the study and feedback opportunities later this semester.
