Important Information:
Dear St. Joseph's Community,
We are incredibly excited about our annual Fun Run tomorrow. We would like to communicate with you that we have been notified by local law enforcement agencies that there is currently a call to action in regards to the conflict in Israel. While they feel the threat is low in Boise, we would like to take these extra precautions tomorrow to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff:
The Fun Run, will take place in the gym instead of outside as a dance party DJ'd by Mr. Maxwell.
- Crazy socks are encouraged (shoes will not be allowed in the gym)
- Athletic wear is encouraged!
- Midriffs and armpits should be covered. Leggings must be covered by shorts or skirts.
There is also currently information circulating about flooding social media with graphic images, while most sources we have reached out to say this is not true, we encourage you to please keep an extra close eye on the media your child consumes over the next several weeks.
Safety is our greatest concern at all times. We still plan to make this a fun day for students and realize many may be disappointed about not being able to run outside.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
Fun Run — Dance Party Edition Details!
Instead of running around the block, the students will enter the gym at the times listed below and enjoy a full-on dance party with snacks, raffle prizes and more! We know this changes the event quite a bit, but we still think the inherent fun, joy and spirit of the day will still be felt.
- 4th and 5th grade (11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.)
- Kindergarten and 1st grade (12:10–12:55 p.m.)
- 2nd and 3rd grade (12:40–1:25 p.m.)
- 6th and 7th grade (1:33–2:10 p.m.)
- 8th grade (2–2:40 p.m.).
Thank you again for your flexibility, adaptability and willingness to support your school, and us as your Fun Run chairs. This was not an easy decision to be made, but as always student safety comes first. It's our job to then infuse the fun so that our students still have a memorable experience. - Your fun run chairs: Heather Carlson, Elizabeth Hutchinson, Sara Gamboa and David Maxwell
Happy Feast Day of Blessed Carlo Acutis - one of our Saints of the year!
"On his website, Carlo wrote a list of instructions for becoming holy... but his very first rule was this: “You must want it with all your heart." This is the legacy of Blessed Carlo Acutis: an ordinary, modern kid who watched cartoons and used the internet and wanted holiness with all his heart. This is why the world loves him. Because he shows us that holiness is possible. For every one of us. Even if you have an Instagram account. Even if you’re a gamer. Carlo Acutis was born in 1991. That fact alone is a testimony: Holiness is possible. For you. Right now. But you have to want it."
Blessed Carlo Acutis, Pray for us!!
