Stillwater MS/HS Library Update
Monthly Report - December 2014
December was another busy month in the library!
Each month in our library is busy, and December was no exception. We continue to see increases in the number of students and staff utilizing the library. We saw nearly twice as many classes in the library this December as compared to last! Mrs. Scarchilli, Mrs. Eggleston and Ms. Buyce all brought their students in to borrow books, and Mrs. Carpenter taught a number of classes both in and out of the library. She visited Mrs. Jackson's class both in their classroom and in a lab to talk about advocacy and lobbying. She also went to Ms. Buyce's kids in their classroom to begin their country research project with a lesson on using Noodletools for citations and note-taking. Finally, Mrs. Scarchilli's students visited the library lab and learned about which sources would be most beneficial for their researched argument paper.
ENCOURAGING A COMMUNITY OF READERS
So, what ARE they reading?
Also continuing to be popular in our checkouts for use within the library were the three Chromebooks that we have on extended loan from the Technology Department. These have proven quite popular, particularly with so many of our teachers embracing Google Apps for Education. We enjoyed ending December with excitement about the upcoming holiday break, and look forward to returning in the new year.
