Final Evaluation Data Meeting - SCHEDULE YOUR MEETING THIS WEEK

I wanted to make you aware of a section titled “Added Documentation” that you will see in Stages when you open up your Teacher Evaluation Checklist.

Due to ongoing legislation changes relative to teacher evaluation, this information is required to be included in this year’s teacher evaluations in order to be compliant with the law. First and foremost, you need to know that these factors will not be included in your weighted summary and will not impact your evaluation score. They are included as information only.

Here are the additional factors that must be included:

  • Attendance: 10 or less school days absent during the 2015-2016 school year (* Excludes FMLA, Worker’s Comp)

  • Discipline: As it relates to the 2015-2016 School Year

  • Significant, Relevant Accomplishments and Contributions: Whether the individual contributes to the overall performance of the school by making clear, significant, relevant contributions above the normal expectations for an individual in his/her per groups an having demonstrated record of exceptional performance.

  • Relevant and Special Training: Other than professional development or continuing education that is required by the employer or state law and integration of that training into instruction in a meaningful way

We will briefly be discussing these factors at your Final Evaluation Meetings where you will be able to share any information relevant to these four factors.

Again, these must be include for the 2015-2016 school year to be compliant with the legislation.

Lastly, some teachers have begun to schedule with me their Final Evaluation Meetings. The deadline for all Final Evaluations Meetings to be completed is June 1st

Once all of your data points are tabulated and ready to go, log into STAGES and complete the STUDENT GROWTH AND DATA (TEACHER) sections. This section MUST be completed before we meet. You are responsible for tabulating all calculations indicated in the 2015-2016 Student Growth Measures handout to be presented at the meeting. Please bring extra copies to be turned in to me at the end of the meeting.

Be sure to schedule your meeting with me this week.

Jazz Band Concert

The Jazz Band will be here Thursday May 19th to put on a performance for our students. The performance will begin at 11:15 pm in the gym. Hopefully, this will not conflict with any M-STEP testing.
