The Principal's Den- Helping us all to stay STRESS FREE
I want to continue sharing some motivational videos this month. I found this clip from ABC news titled, "What Makes Great Teachers". This video highlights three things that describe a great teacher. You have these three amazing qualities!!! Look at what you do for your kids!
The Bobcat 6
- Be prepared every day.
- Intentionally plan using a variety of strategies to meet the needs of all students.
- Seek solutions and always focus on what is best for kids.
- Know what you need to learn and seek the knowledge out.
- Build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
- Be accountable.
100th Day of School Activities - thanks TARA!!!
District Attendance Audit Report
I am happy to share that we have improved this month. YIPEE!!! Thanks to you, our percentage this month shot up to 70%!!! YAHOO! Let's keep this trend going! When you hear our attendance bell, please take your attendance. A couple of things you should know about the times:
- Taking it too soon or too late affects our audit report. For example, if you take it at 9:08 (that's six minutes early), that's a "ding". If you take it at 9:20 (that's five minutes late), that's a "ding" too. I know....crazy right!!
- Looking at our trends for times, it looks like what affected us the most were when we took attendance anywhere from 6 minutes early to 15 minutes late.
Subway for ALL!
Thursday February 16th the Wellness Champions group will be catering Subway for all of us, and providing a Lunch and Learn in the big lounge by one of their doctors regarding stress relief. Nurse Liz has placed a sandwich order form on the clear dry erase board in the office workroom. Please place your order by February 13th so she can return it to the company for ordering.

School Walk for Diabetes
Health Services is gearing up for KISD’s annual School Walk for Diabetes, and it is time to start thinking of silent auction gift baskets! If you are interested in putting together a basket, or know of an individual or business who would be interested please stop by and see Lis and share your idea(s). Big hits with walk participants tend to be jewelry, trips, car rentals, hotel stays, and date night themes. All proceeds go directly to the American Diabetes Association.
