What is a TSL?
The Transfer SUccess Leaders (TSLs) are paid student leaders responsible for providing a welcoming and resourceful community for diverse transfer students who are members of the Collegium. In addition, TSLs provide direction and guidance to new transfer students through mentoring and participation in welcome events and orientation activities. They also represent the department at recruitment events. Transfer SUccess Leaders share resources and connect with new transfers to support their successful transition to Seattle University.
About the Collegium
A Collegium is a space to connect with other students with similar interests and levels of scholastic experience; a place to have deep intellectual, cultural, or spiritual conversations or to cut loose and be silly; a time for puzzles, Jenga, Banana-grams, good music and naps! It’s a setting to share a meal with ‘family,” and an opportunity to reflect and learn about you, others, and the world through community programming.
As a leader within the Collegium and Campus community, TSLs actively form meaningful relationships with and among members, facilitate programming that supports students’ needs, interests and Seattle University’s social justice mission, perform tasks for the smooth operation of the Collegium, and promote a culture of academic and social conversation that enhances the broader educational experience of the students.
