Satan's size is very large in the story. His size is compared to the size of an island. In the story Milton Compares Satan to Typhon or a sea beast. " Prone on the flood, extended long and large LAy floating many a rood, in bulk as huge As whom the fables name the monstrous size"(195-197)
What does God intend for Satan by leaving him to his "own dark desire"?
God intends for Satan to be left on the earth and bring darkness on himself and others. God intends for Satan's dark desire to consume him and bring evil onto the earth."Heaven left him at large to his own dark desire,That with reiterated crimes he might heap on himself damnation. "(212-215)
What does God believe all of Satan's malice will bring forth?
God believes that satan will bring evil and malice over the earth. God believes that the humans will have to chose between good and evil and that they will crush satan by choosing good.His malice will bring forth goodness among man."How all his malice served but to bring forth Infinite Goodness, grace, and mercy shown on man" (216-217)
How did Satan leave the burning lake to move to dry land?
