Costumes at School - 10/27/17
Students are welcome to bring their costumes to school on Friday, 10/27, for classroom halloween parties. Please keep in mind the following building guidelines: We ask that children NOT wear costumes depicting violence or violent acts. This includes fake blood, gore or imagery that would not be "G rated".
Please leave all toy guns, knives and swords at home. Reserve elaborate costumes, face paint and make-up for trick or treating as these things can create a learning distraction.
Halloween is an exciting time. Let's all help to make sure it is a safe and positive experience for the children while at school. Thank you for your support with these guidelines.

Put This on Your Calendar!
Oct. 30th & Oct. 31st
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on the above dates. There will be no school for students on either day.
A letter explaining our conference schedule went out this week. Pay close attention to the letter as some students will be scheduled for a specific conference time and other students will be invited to student lead conferences with their parents.
Contact your child's teacher no later than October 25th if your child has not brought home a letter or call 352-9500.
October 30th & October 31st
Tips for a Successful Conference:
- Be on time.
- Don't be afraid to engage in a frank conversation with your child's teacher. The goal is for them to be successful at school.
- Ask questions and develop a plan if your child is struggling.
- Ask what you can do at home to support what the teacher is doing in the classroom.
- Talk with your child about your conference.
- Lastly, keep in contact with your child's teacher throughout the rest of the year.
Good luck!
NOV. 9TH FAMILY GAME NIGHT!
Climate & Cutural Survey
Within the next few weeks parents, students in grades 3-5, and staff will be asked to complete a survey about the Climate and Culture of Snowshoe Elementary. It will give us information on what we are doing well and what we can improve. As soon as the link is available we will post it on our website. In addition, the survey will be available during parent/teacher conferences. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. Thanks for your time!
