The Washington Little Rockets Newsletter
January 29 - February 2, 2018
Little Rockets News!
Dear Families,
Thank you for your cooperation with our parking changes last week! By Friday, I believe things were running much smoother. Please be sure to pass along the information to whomever is dropping off/picking your child up from school. Most of the confusion came from parents, grandparents, or family friends who told me they were not informed of the change.
One item of safety I would like to make you aware of is doing turnabouts in the middle of Franklin Ave. Backing up in the middle of the road when others are trying to cross is very dangerous with young children around. Please move to an area that is less congested if you feel that a turnabout is your only option.
Thank you!
Ms. Stacie Brethouwer, Principal

Parking Changes Beginning TUESDAY, JANUARY 23
PARKING CHANGES AT WASHINGTON SCHOOL
January, 2018
Beginning January 23, 2018, we will be moving all PARENT and VISITOR parking to Franklin and Columbian Avenues.
The Washington parking lot will be for STAFF PARKING ONLY and also be the
BUS LOADING ZONE.
Please refer to the map for specifics. As you park on the street, please be mindful of our neighbor’s driveways.
Also, please note that the school buses will be entering and exiting from Walnut Ave. which is to the west of our parking lot. Although it is indicated as parent parking on the street, please be very cautious as bus traffic will be heavy in that area and crossing the street will be more difficult.
DROP-OFF
There will now be two doors for drop off! We will continue to have a teacher at the parking lot door (#3) and will now also have a teacher at the main entrance at the Franklin Ave. door (#1) at 8:20/11:55.
Head Start students will continue to use the same door off of the parking lot for drop-off and pick-up and signing students in and out.
PICK-UP
Our bus students will now be dismissed out of the parking lot doors in order to be closer to the buses. Therefore, one of the 4K classes will be moving to a different door for dismissal.
DROP-OFF (8:20-8:30 & 11:55-12:05)
